We Love It!!!

To express how much I have enjoyed SoCal...

Change is a Comin!!!

Well..Last week I moved out of the housing unit to move back home with the family. After looking at a few options, I saw it best to move home save money and suffer the 35 minute drive to and from work. It helps keep 636 to 800 dollars in my pocket every month, and that is a big plus. It seems like a lot of things are actually changing right about now. Little things from me switching roles at the park, to me moving out, to the complete end of my college career, the park is going under major reconstruction and development projects such as world of color in California Adventure. New lands in California Adventure such as Cars Land and others are being developed. The wine festival is also underway so there have been huge numb ers of guests into the park.
Change is a constant and I see that to succeed you will need to adapt quickly as well as reacting intelligently. This summer brings a whole slew of new opportunities. I even recently was hired to be a part time intern for LAnightlife.com. It is a guide to the city of Los Angeles  and the surrounding cities to what events, clubs, restaurants, even shopping and hotels are available to the public. It will be a new experience and help with developing me into a prosperous businessman. What else does the future hold in store.

Moving home!!!

Work has been amazing. I have been meeting new people left and right. It has been a bunch of good times. Today is a somewhat big day though. I went to the disney class today and heard from a couple of mangers who work in Disneyland park communications. I love going to the class because every week it seems like I learn of new job opportunities every time.

Interestingly...
Today I found out the most random thing. A man asks to be my friend on facebook. Originally I was going to say no because I did not know him. But I saw that he worked for ABC which is a part of the Walt Disney Company. Before I add him I ask what he does for ABC, and he replies by telling me what he does and continues with telling me how he knows my uncle, aunt, and my grandmother. Turns out, he is my grandmothers stepbrother. I knew him when I was younger but I haven't seen him since. Funny how we both work for The Walt Disney Company. Networking has never been so simple..lol

New Roles!!!

So my four months have come up and  I am no longer on my new hire probation. I am now free to transfer to another department if I feel I want to. Funny because I actually do! I have worked with characters so much and become friends with those who have these roles that I wouldn't mind switching into a character role position. I am very outgoing and love to make people laugh if possible. How better of a way to do this than behind a mask and be the biggest jokester possible.

On my last post I mentioned that we had merged with the Entertainment department. Well earlier this week the hosted an Entertainment Department Only auditions for characters, which means I could go, so I went. It was my first audition of any sort besides a normal job interview, so I had no idea what to expect. But one of Mickey's current friends told me to just go all out and do anything they ask you to do, so I did, and I made it. I was casted to be friends with Goofy and Tigger. Fun times ahead!!!

COme Together

So within the past few months my work sector has been merging to become one with the entertainment department. We were originally under the stores and operations department for some reason. It honestly makes more sense that we merge with the entertainment department, seeing that we do a lot of work that revolves around such things as the characters on stage and or shows and events. Character meet and greets are made memorable experiences by us photographing these moments for our guests.

By merging, you can see the logistical side of things. We can help the entertainment department gain more revenue, and we in turn can gain some of the perks that the characters may get, hopefully..LOL!!!

Here nor there!!!!

I have had A very busy week. Work has been ridiculously crazy! Spring break began three weeks ago so people have been showing up Monday through Sunday. Its actually kind of wierd because every week the people visiting the park are generally from the same area. This past week it was overrun with guests from Washington state and Melbourne, Australia. This week we have started to see the Californians all rush the park because their breaks either began this week or next. I can't even go to the park for fun if I wanted to. My roomie has friends in town and they went to the park and were denied....lol... The economy may be facing a huge hit but Disneyland seems more booming than ever. The amount of people here are unimaginable. Line, after line, after line, after lines are filled for every attraction, venue, and food stand. I am glad I went earlier this week to see the Fire works show at least.

Lately, I have been on a restaurant search quest. I have been going out to Hollywood, Santa Monica, everywhere actually and just trying new food outlets. If i keep this up, by the time I am done with the internship in August, I will have made a name for myself as an LA food critic. HAHAHA!!!

March Madness!!!

The past two weeks have been very interesting!!!

So my little step brother lost his division championship game here in cali to Dominguez. HEARTBREAKER...lol... Then they lose in state to Fairfax...crazy.

Work has been very good and steady. Took one extra day off this week to catch the laker game last sunday. Definite win! I am loving my ability to move all over the park. It beats being in the same location and doing tedious work everyday. Meeting new people has never been so easy. I ran into college program kids who actually did the program in Florida. They say it seems so different from there experience.

Another great thing about being so close to home is being able to see family whenever. I swear I love my little cousin ( age 20 ). She is like my little sister and its so cool to be able to just chill and hangout wit her like we do.

March is Here!!!

Wow!!! Is it really March already. Time flies fast when you are having fun. This week has been very interesting. I have made a lot of friends at the park including hosts and many characters. It seems I have been working in all the right areas because I seem to always meet celebs as well. Lindsey Lohan and  Jonas Brothers have stopped by in the past week to take in the fun at the Resort.

Along with the day to day work I put in, we have these lecture series classes which are held every thursday morning. The sessions are very informative in telling me the career paths of those who are higher in management with the company here at the Resort. Every week its a different department and they always bring something new to the table. I can't wait for the entertainment department to present. I here they always do something big and elaborate.

WHAT A TRIP!!!

SO...ITS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I LAST POST. THE USUAL THINGS ARE THE SAME. STILL DOING TACO TUESDAYS AT  EL TARASCO WITH MY CUZZIN, ROOMIES, AND FRIENDS. MADE IT OUT TO PHOENIX TO VISIT FRIENDS FROM ASU DURING ALLSTAR WEEKEND. AMAZING I MUST SAY.

FACEBOOK IS SO USEFUL..LOL

I LITERALLY INSTANT MESSAGED A FRIEND WHO GRADUATED FROM MY HIGHSCHOOL WHOME I HADNT SEEN SINCE HE GRADUATED A YEAR BEFORE I DID, AND ENDED UP AT A LITTLE GET TOGETHER IN CULVER CITY WITH PEOPLE FROM HIGH SCHOOL I HAD NOT SEEN SINCE 2004 2005 MAYBE. IT WAS GREAT TO RECONNECT AND RE-ESTABLISH THOSE TIES WITH ALL THOSE PEOPLE. EVEN IF SOME WERE JUST FOR THAT EVENING.

MAKE ME WONDER IF DISNEY WOULD WANT TO GET INTO ANY TIES WITH FACEBOOK. MAYBE TO BOOST PROMOTIONS OR RELAY OPPORTUNITIES. HHHHMMM I SHOULD PITCH THAT TO SOMEONE. LOL

VALENTINES DAY HAS PAST TOO SO ITS BEEN CRAZY AS FAR AS HOW BUSY THINGS HAVE BEEN AT WORK AND HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE VISITING THE PARK FROM ALL OVER. TODAY I EVEN WITNESSED TWO COUPLES GET ENGAGED. YES, MARRIAGE PROPOSALS RINGS AND ALL RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE CASTLE. ONE HAPPENED OUT OF NO WHERE AND EVEN I WAS SHOCKED. LOL OF COURSE I GOT ALL THE CAMERA SHOTS, PHOTOS CAME OUT GREAT I MUST ADD. SWEAR I WAS SO GLAD JUST TO HAVE WITNESSED IT HAPPEN.

Tubular Dudes!!!

Another great week in the history books in southern California. My roomies birthday was this past Friday so we had to celebrate.  We went out to eat at this place called Cafe Tu Tu Tango where I saw the most amazing woman. She was a belly dancer who came and entertained us while we finished eating. She even asked for my number!!! Yes, I was siked....lol After dinner friends and my roomies ended the night at our place for a fun kickback. His birthday was also my sisters birthday so I spent some time in LA with family.

Work has been good. I love meeting new people everyday. We just reopened the old/new Small World ride and on the 14th we will reopen the haunted mansion. On my day off I of course went to the park, and checked out some things that I normally don't go to. In california Adventure on Hollywood BLVD, we went to the animation studio where u get an in depth look at how characters are drawn in the past. By far the best thing I have done at the Park is Turtle Talk with Crush from finding Nemo. It had me laughing for the entire show. "Yaaahhhh Bruh!!! Righteous!

Wut a week!!!

So...I have lived through another fun packed week in beautiful Southern California. Although it did rain one day which gave me a free pass from working. Event though I should have been working in the Disneyland Hotel, working in the park has not been a downfall. I think I have been able to meet more people and the fact that I am in the park is always uplifting rather than being behind a desk all day.

Tuesday Night was fun!!! Taco Tuesday at El Tarasco Food, Drinks, Friends, and the Laker game on the big screen. Couldn't ask for a better night. We found a basketball court and a bunch of us wanted to go play but no one had a ball. With that disney discount, I went to the ESPN zone, bought a ball and the next day we were all at it. Nearly lost a game to 11 when I was down 10-3 to my roomate Nick, who happens to be from ASU too. But he couldn't hold me..... 8 point comeback for the win. lol

I have arrived!!!

After 2 weeks of getting settled into my new Apt., job training and meeting my new roommates and friends, I can finally say I have made a home. LOL!!! Roomies are koo people. We have had some interesting events already, sure too be more in the future. Best part besides living down the street from Disneyland and being able to go whenever I want is that I can go home to my moms or grandmas house anytime. Cheers to a new Beginning, Yyyyyyyeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhh!
